Pode parecer estranho para os usuários brasileiros, mas a rede social mais utilizada no País, o Orkut, não está sequer entre as dez mais populares dos EUA, segundo um estudo realizado pela Nielsen/NetRatings.
A principal rede, por enquanto, é o MySpace, mas com o crescimento do Facebook, que ganhou cerca de 11 milhões em apenas um mês, é sinal de que o primeiro lugar no pódio pode, em pouco tempo, estar ameaçado.
O Orkut ficou atrás em quantidade de usuários até mesmo de serviços como o Club Penguin, utilizada apenas por crianças.
Mas se o Google come poeira para seus concorrentes nas redes sociais, a mesma pesquisa demonstrou que quando se trata de áreas como vídeo online e blogs a marca não tem concorrente à altura.
O YouTube teve 55 milhões de visitantes, contra 17 milhões do segundo colocado, o MySpace Videos. Já o serviço Blogger tem 30 milhões de acessos, contra 10 milhões do rival TMZ.com.
